- 80 children from the orphanage of Masaka, Hutu and Tutsi combined, now live in the castle of Rondon in Loiret, far from the massacres in Rwanda.
- At the beginning of the events, Sister Edith warns the general council of Loiret. The civil war has just started and the danger is great for the children.
