- In Rwanda this morning, start of the humanitarian airlift organized by the UN after a delay of 24 hours. 14 planes were chartered to transport food and clothing.
- 150 Rwandan orphans, mostly Hutu, were evacuated yesterday [July 16] to Zaire by French soldiers from Operation Turquoise. Four military trucks escorted by paratroopers went to look for these little children to transport them to Goma, the humanitarian PC.
