NAIROBI, Nov 11 (AFP) - The Rwandan Government reported that its troops killed more than 100 Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) rebels on Sunday after repulsing a third attack in less than two weeks.

According to state-owned radio Rwanda, monitored here, the rebel attack occurred in the Muvumba district of the Byumba region, bordering Uganda.

"The rebels have been driven back into Uganda and will never capture even an inch of Rwandan territory," the radio said, but without giving details of government losses.

Less than two weeks ago, government troops were reported to have repelled two attacks in the same area by rebels, made up mostly of minority Tutsi exiles who fled Rwanda in the early 1960's to escape ethnic strife with majority Hutus.

Most of the rebels were serving in the Ugandan Army when they unsuccessfully invaded their country from Uganda on October 2 last year, prompting Kigali to accuse Uganda of supporting the rebels.

The Ugandan Government has strongly denied the charges.
