RWANDA

Faustin Rucogoza, Minister of Information
Landoald Ndasingwa, Minister of Employment and Social Affairs
Frédéric Nzamurambano, Minister of Agriculture
Charles Shamukiga, human rights activist
and hundreds of others

Amnesty International has learned that Charles Shamukiga, human rights
activist, is dead. He was reported to have been taken away by members of
the Presidential Guard on 7 April, and is now believed to have been killed
on that day. He worked with the Association des volontaires de la paix,
(AVP), Association of Peace Volunteers.
Due to the rapidly changing situation in Rwanda, and the resulting
difficulties in communicating appeals to the interim Rwandese authorities,
no further action is required at present from the Urgent Action Network.
Thank you to all who sent appeals.
