Abstract
The Hugeux, Kiley, Peterson group of journalists went to Kibuye on June 25, 1994 where a priest told them that killings were continuing about ten kilometers away. They went to this place which turned out to be Bisesero. They encountered killers there and saw burning houses but did not see any survivors. The next day the 26th, they met a French convoy commanded by Captain Bucquet of the RICM. Three French journalists - Patrick de Saint-Exupéry, Dominique Garraud and Christophe Boisbouvier - accompanied this convoy and witnessed this meeting, images of which were filmed by Christiane Amanpour of CNN. Moreover, still on the 26th, journalists Hugeux, Kiley, Peterson met Marin Gillier as he was heading for Kibuye and gave him the same information. Did Marin Gillier and Éric Bucquet inform their supervisor the same evening? It's possible. This was Colonel Rosier. Journalists Saint-Exupéry, Garraud and Boisbouvier also informed Lieutenant-Colonel Duval (aka Diego) in Kibuye. So on the evening of June 26, the French army knew that the massacres were continuing in Bisesero, not far from Gishyita.
