From the first days of October 1990, the French soldiers assimilated the rebels to the Tutsis. The Tutsi massacres of the years 1959-1973 are concealed behind the phrase "ethnic rivalries". Note the intervention of Gazelle combat helicopters from the start of the counter-offensive.
