Abstract
- French troops will begin withdrawing from Rwanda at the end of the month. François Léotard, a guest on the 8 p.m. news yesterday [July 12], confirmed this. The withdrawal of Operation Turquoise troops will be gradual.
- It is not certain that it will be completed by August 21, however. Everything depends on the situation on the ground, which remains very critical. Heavy fighting took place again yesterday [July 12] in the north of the country between government forces and the RPF.
- According to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Kigali, the war in Rwanda has claimed one million victims.
