The FAR fired on the CND where an RPF battalion is stationed from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. then from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. At dawn, the presidential guard eliminates political leaders of the opposition and Rwandans of Tutsi ethnicity. Mr. Landoald Ndasingwa, PL Minister of Social Affairs and Mrs. Agathe Uwilingiyimana, Prime Minister were killed. The ministers of information and agriculture were also probably eliminated. UNAMIR admits its impotence.

In his report of April 19, Lieutenant-Colonel Maurin no longer says that the FAR bombarded the RPF at the CND. It is noted that at 1 p.m., J.J.
