Abstract
At a time when, on the ground, French officers are preparing for an armed confrontation with the RPF, which would strongly resemble an intervention explicitly prohibited by the UN resolution, Admiral Lanxade enjoins his troops: "Regarding our mission, I ask you to avoid using the term interposition in your communication".
