Abstract
- Still no United Nations agreement to send French troops to Rwanda. The Security Council is expected to take a decision tonight, but criticism of such an intervention is growing.
- Yet Operation Turquoise has indeed started: Transall, Hercules, Antonov have followed each other at the rate of one every hour since the beginning of the night. They unload men, equipment, cars and take off again almost immediately towards Bangui to ensure the rotation.
- In view of all this deployment of efforts and activities, and while waiting for the green light from the UN, it is difficult to see how the French could now backtrack so close to the goal.
