- The RPF has announced its intention to soon form a national unity government headed by a moderate Hutu.
- François Mitterrand and Alain Juppé reaffirmed yesterday [July 5] the strictly humanitarian nature of the French soldiers' mission in Rwanda.
- Reaction from Valéry Giscard d'Estaing: the UDF president believes that the French soldiers have gone too far into Rwanda. "They must be brought back to the border and strictly humanitarian operations must be carried out".
