Abstract
- Mugonero, 6:00 PM: The rescue operation begins. At 6:30 PM, one of the vehicles is unable to get through: the track is too narrow. The operation continues with half its personnel.
- This woman is the widow of a pastor who was massacred along with his two sons. Since then, she has devoted all her energy to rescuing Tutsi families hunted down by militias and hiding in secret shelters.
- 7:00 PM: Weapons in hand, the patrol arrives at the agreed-upon location for the family's extraction. The hamlet is deserted, the houses damaged.
- Disappointment: no one is there. Instead of the expected children, there is an abandoned bag.
- 7:10 PM: A guide who emerged from the night whispers to the patrol that the family is hiding but will be there in 10 minutes.
- 7:30 PM: The family has arrived without a sound. She was waiting in the dark. It was the camera's light that surprised her.
- The family is all together. They pile into the military vehicle. The pastor's widow is relieved.
- The three children smile for the first time since the beginning of their ordeal, that is, for three months. One of them, the little girl, is named Providence.
