On March 19, a Rwandan genocide suspect was arrested in the Netherlands. It is likely that he will be extradited to Rwanda for trial. Since the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) first transferred an accused person to Kigali in April 2012, extradition has accelerated. Now 19 people accused of genocide have been extradited to Rwanda by the country where they sought refuge. The ICTR has closed and so have the gacaca courts, but not Rwanda's ordinary courts.
