Abstract
- In Rwanda, the RPF demands that France leave the country by July 31 at the latest, as it had undertaken to do. Yesterday [July 11] for the first time, Edouard Balladur had spoken of a possible extension of the mission until August 21. Confirmation this morning by François Léotard but the withdrawal, he said, will begin at the end of July.
- Among all the problems of Rwanda, that of orphans. In Kigali, they are at least 60,000. But it is very difficult to count them because they are leaving, they are returning from the refugee camps.
- Some are leaving the Bukavu camp. They had taken refuge to escape massacres and war. The children they had taken in during these troubled months, orphans who lost their whole family, cannot follow them. Today is the hour of separation.
- These children who have lost everything will have to leave for the orphanage. They are more than a hundred in Bukavu. They are several thousand across the country. Most of them witnessed the death of their parents. They are serious, absent.
