Abstract
- Resumption of violent fighting in Kigali between government forces and Patriotic Front troops. Two shells hit the ICRC premises, killing two Rwandan Red Cross employees.
- The war but also new massacres would be committed this time by the RPF. Reprisals, revenge, journalists are indicted. A black woman: "We always speak positively for the Tutsi. And we always condemn the Hutus". When we tell them about genocide - 200,000, maybe 500,000 dead - they say, "It's intoxication".
- In Kigali, almost deserted streets, feeling of war. And these omnipresent, formidable militias. We are lucky to be French. Our government is their friend, they say.
- The UN Human Rights Commission, meeting in Geneva, has decided to open an international investigation to establish responsibility for these killings.
