Abstract
- In Rwanda, the new government went to the town of Gisenyi to try to reassure the refugees. The United Nations Security Council calls on all Rwandan parties to promote the return to the country. And UNHCR has set up a radio station to give them the information they need.
- In the refugee camps, old transistors are still looking for a station. According to some reports, Radio Mille Collines or another Hutu radio station still broadcast maddening propaganda and rumors from time to time.
- Conversely, the UNHCR houses another humanitarian station, which is set up to broadcast practical information to the million and a half refugees from north to south Zaire. Robert Ménard, "Director of 'Reporters Without Borders'": "First of all, it is to provide the information that people need in matters of health, food, hygiene.
